The perfect environment for your air conditioning

Here at H&H Air Conditioning, we pride ourselves on creating the perfect environment for your air conditioning. Not only do we want to ensure that you are getting the best possible service from your machine, we also want to ensure that your property and air conditioning unit is working with your surrounding environment (whether you are in Brisbane, the Sunshine Coast or anywhere in Australia) in order to ease the load on the environment. Today’s blog post has been designed to provide a few tips and guidelines on how an air conditioning unit could work in synergy with a home.

Orientation

One of the most passive ways in which a sustainable home can be effectively optimized is to minimize the impact of the sun’s harsh rays, especially on the Western and Eastern facing walls and windows. Ideally in Queensland, your home should have been built with a Northern orientation. If you find that this is not the case, than we recommend that you focus your efforts into buffering the effects of the sun’s rays before they heat your home. This can be achieved through glazed windows, awnings, blinds and planting large trees and bushes around your home.

Ventilation and Insulation

Having effective insulation and ventilation in your roof is a highly effective way to maintain a consistent temperature in your home, reducing the pressure that is placed on your air conditioning and the power grid. There have been government incentives for this in the past, so it is worth asking around to see what is available.

The Extra 1%

If you are seriously looking at reducing your carbon footprint, we recommend focusing on the small things. In time, these will all add up and actually prove to be quite an investment. Small things which you can do in your home is to paint your walls lighter colors, especially near the windows. You can also run your air conditioner at a higher temp, and keep the blinds shut to stop the cool air escaping.

In today’s article, we have outlined some of the ways in which you can passively improve the performance of your air conditioning unit.
