Advice and News •
Believe it or not infants are quite sensitive to heat and can overheat very easily. Having the ideal environment for infants and young children is especially important to help them sleep well throughout the night. Some studies suggest that having a climate-controlled room, with the help of air conditioners among other options, can help achieve a sound-sleep and restful night.
Here at H&H Air Conditioning we understand the importance of climate control and happy, healthy infants. Often parents oversee this and run the risk of having many sleepless nights due to their children overheating and spending the night wide-awake.
Today we would like to share a few tips to help you and your children enjoy the benefits of climate controlled rooms.
Cool temperatures prevent heat rash
During summer or warm months, children and especially babies, are at risk of developing heat rash. By using air conditioning and dressing your infant in thin cotton clothing will help prevent heat rash from happening.
Position vents correctly
Make sure that the air is not blowing straight on your infant’s bed. Place the cradle at a sensible distance from the air con unit.
Set temperature between 18-21 C
Overheating is very common among babies and young children. Overheating has been previously linked to SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome), making air conditioning an excellent solution to this problem. Many paediatricians recommend parents a cool temperature of 18-21 degrees to help infants sleep and protect them from overheating.
There is no such a thing as taking too many precautions when it comes to infants. Create the best climate- controlled nursery with an air conditioner!
