Expert Tips To Choose The Right Air Conditioning Contractor

Right Air Conditioning Contractor

From using quality suppliers and providing the appropriate licenses, to showcasing positive feedback from happy customers, a range of factors will normally solidify a company’s reputation. But what about air conditioning professionals? Here are our top tips for choosing the right air conditioning contractor for your needs.

They exhibit professionalism and trustworthiness

In terms of recognising professional behaviour in an air conditioning specialist, there are a number of factors that you should be aware of including contractors that offer a written contract, provide licenses when requested and back up their work with warranties.

They will also ensure products they’ve promised match the ones they install, are clear about payment terms (and won’t request full payment upfront), and will be forthcoming with feedback from previous customers.

They use quality, well-known suppliers

Professional air conditioning contractors recommend and use top quality suppliers. Here at H&H Air Conditioning, we are proud of our solid partnerships with some of Australia’s leading suppliers, including:

Fujitsu General – a name trusted by thousands of Australians and recognised as providing ‘Australia’s favourite air’. They are experts at incorporating advanced technology into leading-edge designs that result in affordable and reliable air conditioning systems.

Mitsubishi Electric – has been creating the highest quality air conditioning systems for decades. With recognised hallmarks of dependability and performance, they are all about ‘quality of life’.

Polyaire – with thousands of products suited to both domestic and commercial air conditioning, they are one of the most comprehensive suppliers in the industry today. Combined with unparalleled work standards and an adherence to international and Australian standards, they are the number one choice for many of the biggest names in air conditioning.

Daikin – deemed as one of Australia’s most trusted air conditioning brands, their products are found in homes, hotels, offices and retail outlets both in Australia and across the world. Their commitment to quality is evident in both their research and development capabilities and in the establishment of their own world-class manufacturing facility.

They have the appropriate licenses

The Ozone Protection and Synthetic Greenhouse Gas Management Regulations 1995 (the ‘Regulations’) cover the licensing requirements for all those who work with refrigeration and air conditioning systems. In 2005, the Australian Refrigeration Council (ARC) was appointed to administer the air conditioning and refrigeration aspects of these government regulations.

The ARC is responsible for granting refrigerant trading authorisations and refrigerant handling licences approved under the Regulations, as well as conducting compliance activities. There are two main authorisations/licenses granted – a Refrigerant Trading Authorisation is a business-level permit allowing a business to acquire, possess and dispose of refrigerants. A Refrigerant Handling Licence allows technicians to do certain types of work on approved RAC equipment.

Working with RAC equipment basically means work that has anything to do with a fluorocarbon refrigerant, including working with substances that carry the risk of emission. This also includes the decanting, installing, manufacturing, servicing and maintaining of RAC equipment. Air conditioning professionals will have employed staff with these licenses and also be forthcoming with the appropriate documentation if it’s requested.

They are members of industry organisations

When considering air conditioning contractors, it’s important to recognise their commitment to the principles of the industry’s leading organisations. Here at H&H Air Conditioning, we are partners with the Queensland Building and Construction Commission (QBCC) and Master Builders Queensland.

The QBCC regulates the building industry throughout Queensland. They provide advice, information and regulation to ensure the maintenance of professional building standards, including those in the air conditioning sector.

Master Builders Queensland is the peak industry organisation representing building and construction in Queensland. As a number one source of building information, they support members in operating professional and customer-focused businesses and keep them regularly informed with updates on laws, codes and regulations and health, safety and environmental issues.

They have a reasonable operating history

Companies who have been operating for a reasonable amount of time can generally be deemed to be trustworthy. Otherwise, they probably wouldn’t be in business anymore! This is particularly true of local businesses as word of mouth spreads fast in small communities, so if there has been a problem with service, a little internet research will probably uncover any issues.

H&H Air Conditioning is a local air conditioning company based in Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast and we have built up a reputation as one of the leading air conditioning specialists in South East Queensland.

Founded in 1998 by two experienced air conditioning technicians, Nick Hume and Ray Hartwig, who had both previously worked in senior management in one of Australia’s leading air conditioning and refrigeration companies. The business rapidly grew to include large-scale air conditioning repairs, sales and installations, and as we have grown, so has our commitment to ongoing staff training.

From our sales and support staff, AC contractors, senior management and engineers and technicians, we remain at the forefront of technological advancements for both domestic and commercial applications. Our respected name in the industry has also helped our ties with major suppliers, including our international partners.

Previous customers offer positive feedback

Probably some of the most powerful evidence of trustworthiness among air conditioning professionals comes in the form of testimonials. Positive customer feedback can serve a number of purposes, including establishing credibility and providing social proof of your professionalism. It can also help show off your full range of services, and most importantly, highlight your business in terms of your competition.

Here at H&H Air Conditioning, we are proud of the strong relationships we have built with all of our valuable customers. But don’t take our word for it! Check out our Testimonials page and see for yourself!
